About the Author

Leading worship and teaching God’s people about worship is one of my strongest passions. We were created for an abiding and all-encompassing relation with God our Creator and worship is how we live that out. Worship is not relegated to a certain time and it is not relegated to a specific place (Jesus Himself said that in John 4). Life itself, lived according to God’s design, is worship. God reveals Himself to us and we respond to that revelation, participating in an ongoing holy dialog with God Himself. And what an exciting dialog it is!

I have served as a worship leader in South Carolina and Texas and I’m currently an adjunct music instructor at Charleston Southern University. I have directed the men’s choir and taught voice, music appreciation, and church music education. I also served as the Head of Fine Arts at Porter-Gaud School, a private college preparatory school in Charleston. Prior to moving to home to South Carolina, I served as a graduate assistant of the Southwestern Seminary Oratorio Chorus (now called the Master Chorale), which doubles as the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra Chorus.

My wife, Christina, and I have been married since 1997. We have three wonderful children, none of whom lack for personality. Christina and I met in college at the University of South Carolina and ultimately were engaged prior to moving away to seminary. We each have a degree in music education. I also have a degree in conducting from Southwestern Seminary and Christina has a degree in hospital chaplaincy from Southwestern. In my spare time, I enjoy umpiring Dixie Youth Baseball, reading, and website design.

Christina founded Lowcountry Perinatal Support, an organization that assists families who are expecting babies diagnosed with lethal anomalies (in other words, they will likely die prior to or shortly after birth) or who suffer a sudden infant death. She is currently the Executive Director of Medical Services at the Lowcountry Prengancy Center.
