Okay, so this post doesn’t have much to do with worship, but it does have to do with the Church and its influence (or the way we squander our influence) in our communities.
With a deep and abiding passion I loathe, detest, and hate bad church signs. I mean, I can’t put into words how much I abhor driving past a church with some sort of absurd cliché on their sign. Here’s a site that posts pictures of bad church signs and reviews why they’re bad signs.
I can’t possibly imagine that anyone’s life was turned to Christ or otherwise affected in a positive way because of these signs. In fact, if I roll my eyes in disgust, what must non-believers think when they see things like this?
Feel free to discuss, but please, no flames. I’m not questioning anyone’s motives in using these kinds of signs. I am, however, questioning (severely and unapologetically) their methodology.
