Joe Thorn posted an excellent article yesterday examining three areas in which churches must consider whether to think “inside the box” or “outside the box.” In summary, Joe argues that we must inside the boxes of Scripture and culture and outside the box of traditionalism.
Thinking “outside the box” has become a catch-phrase in recent years among churches who want to “do things differently.” But, as Joe explains, there’s more to the calculation than that. We must determine what the boxes themselves are and then determine whether we stay inside or go outside.
