I wanted to give you a heads up on some upcoming posts. In addition to the posts on True Worship and the weekday private worship posts (which return tomorrow), I’ll be doing a few posts on how I plan worship services. There have been a few blog posts around the blogosphere talking about how some Christian lyrics read as though they could be sung to someone’s girlfriend or boyfriend. That whole subject sparked a thought that a few posts on how I not only choose music for services but how I plan services as a whole would be beneficial. I want to work them up in more of an essay form for posterity so as soon as I get that done, I’ll be turning them into posts for your edification (that’s kind of arrogant of me, isn’t it?).
Also, a note on the private worship posts: I generally write a few private worship posts at a time. Using WordPress (my blogging platform), I can set them to be “published” at any time in the future I want them to. So I can write a post on Friday that I don’t want to show up until Monday. That works great for the post itself; it doesn’t show up until the time I have it set for. But, the link to that post shows up immediately in the “Recent Posts” list in the sidebar and on the Archives page. So technically you can read the private worship posts as soon as they’re finished if you know where to look for them. That isn’t all that big a deal, but I’m trying to find a way to fix that. In case I don’t, don’t be surprised if you see a “Private Worship for X” several days in advance in either of those two places.
